Ever since her Zanjeer neared completion, Priyanka Chopra has been dreading a clash with her cousin Parineeti’s new rom-com Shuddh Desi Romance. Both the films were being readied for a September release and Priyanka made sure that her starrer did not release on the same Friday as her cousin’s film. To her friends, Priyanka described a clash with Parineeti as ‘the worst nightmare’. But now because of a last-minute re-shuffle, Priyanka’s worst nightmare will come true. Her Zanjeer will release on the same Friday, September 6, as Parineeti’s next.

Shuddh Desi Romance was earlier scheduled for Nothinga September 13 release. But being selected for a gala premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, the film is now being released on September 6. Says a source from the Zanjeer team, “PC was very paranoid about a clash with Parineeti. In fact we were supposed to release it on September 13.

But when she came to know her cousin’s film was releasing on that day, PC was in a panic. She asked us to release Zanjeer on another Friday in September.

That’s how we zeroed in on September 6. Little did we know that Shuddh Desi Romance would be preponed by a week at the last minute. Now, there is nothing we can do about it at this moment.”
